Dog Breed Name: Yorktese, Morkie, Yorkteses, Morkies, Yorkie & Maltese mix, Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese Hybrid

Description: Wonderful toy breed that makes a perfect lap dog. She loves sitting on his lap, running around the house or in the garden. I will sleep in your bed. Good for children and adults alike. Quickly becoming one of the most popular designer breeds in the United States.

Temperament: Playful, loves to be held, gets along well with others. As in all breeds, parental temperament and socialization come into play.

Height, Weight: Depends on the size of the parents. Typically 3 to 8 lbs.

Health Issues: No extraordinary health claims or illnesses specific to Morkies have been documented. As will be the case with all dog hybrids, Morkies inherit any number of combinations of physical and behavioral attributes from the Maltese and Yorkshire terrier.

Colors: Black and Tan, Black and Gold, Black and White, Black, Tricolor with Black, Gold and White. It can also be mostly white.

Required Exercise: Most of the required exercise can be obtained in an apartment or house, but they love to play outside and go for walks.

Life expectancy: 15-18 years

Litter size: 2-4

Grooming: Similar to Yorkie and Maltese. The coat can be long and flowing or you can give them a puppy cut or other haircut.
