What color of nail polish suits you best?

New to nail polish? You’re probably not sure which color looks best on you. There are so many colors to choose from, but not all will suit you. What looks good on one person may not look good on others. Here are some very good tips to follow when selecting nail polish colors for yourself:

1.) Your skin tone is important for nails to stand out. Light and medium colors look great on fair skin, while darker colors look better on dark skin tones. For example, if you want to wear pink, use a lighter shade of pink for a light skin tone and a darker shade of pink for a dark skin tone.

2.) Nail shops will offer samples for people to try the colors. What you can do is bring a small piece of napkin, or any kind of paper will do, and use it to put nail polish samples. You can put your finger next to the color side by side to see if it suits you.

3.) There are many types of polishes to choose from. Matte and gloss are the most common types that people buy. If this is your first time shopping, stick to these two basics for now. If you are going to a girls night out at a club, you can go crazy with glitter and quirky patterns.

4.) Use common sense because if you are going to an interview or business meeting, you may want to stick to solid colors. Unusual colors and patterns can draw too much attention to your hands. Assuming your business meeting or interview has nothing to do with hand modeling, you don’t want crazy colors.

5.) Many people will choose to match their nail colors with the clothes they wear. They will also match the colors with the seasons, for example, during spring, a person can wear baby blue or light green nail polish.

6.) If you are going to spend money on this, you can also go for much more expensive brands. The expensive ones tend to be organic and are not harmful to the nails. The cheap types use harmful chemicals that are bad for the environment and your nails.

7.) You can always ask an experienced nail salon employee for the colors they think would be the best for you. It never hurts to experiment to try new things!
