Bridgeport State Park is located in Okanogan County, upstream from the Chief Joseph Dam. The park sits on the banks of the Columbia River, on the dam-backed reservoir known as Rufus Woods Lake. One of the visually interesting parts of the park is the haystacks that appear throughout it. These haystacks are volcanic deposits that emerge from the surrounding terrain. Children love to climb on them and they are very interesting to watch.

Bridgeport State Park covers nearly 750 acres of land and has more than 7,500 feet of freshwater shoreline. The park also has a spacious boat dock for those who want to get out on the water. The surrounding landscape is desert-like in appearance, but the park itself is home to over 18 acres of well-maintained grass. There are a number of excellent hiking trails that weave along the coast and through the local hillside and down towards Chief Joseph Dam.
