thug busting 101 part 2

As mentioned in the previous article, the school, teachers, workplace or any other institution will be very slow to deal with bullying at school or in the workplace. That’s why if you think you’re being stalked, you need to become more stalker-proof.

Start by getting stronger and healthier. I know this is difficult if you are chronically underweight or overweight, ill, or have some type of condition that impedes your progress.

Most of the bullied youth usually have difficulties at home. Their parents are overbearing, judgmental, angry about something most of the time, or just not around. Often adults are still trying to work out their own emotional issues and it’s really hard if they are alcoholics, addicts and/or bullying and making fun of you at home. (When I turned 17, I became physically strong enough to warn my mother never to hit me again. My aunt and other relatives also stayed away.)

Getting stronger will be difficult at first. Bullies will try to interfere with your progress. (I know from experience). They often want to keep you “in your place.”

That’s why it’s best to make a plan and train in private.

Along with exercising, eat fresh foods as much as you can. This means HIGH PROTEIN, fresh vegetables and water. Not your junk, breakfast cereals, sodas, candy and pastries. Even if you are very poor, you can still eat healthy with porridge, vegetables, rice and eggs. Eat food as fresh as you can. Learning to cook your own food will improve your health, confidence, and ability to focus.

I’ve seen underweight or overweight teens (and adults) who are too lazy to take 20 minutes to fix something healthy to eat. Learning to cook is not only healthy for you, but it is also a great skill to save money and entertain your friends. Skill is something that cannot be bought, sold or lost. Therefore, take the time to learn how to cook.

Along with exercise and a good diet, you should get eight hours of sleep a night. Turn off the computer and television. Better yet, shut it down after 6 p.m. This is very important as my biggest strength gains occurred when I was getting an extra 30 minutes of sleep a day and sometimes taking an afternoon nap. I also avoided drinking and junk food.

If you must, save your lunch or Starbucks coffee money and get some training. Even if you have a part-time job, train at least a couple of hours per week.

Within two months, you will become stronger. Training, eating, sleeping will be your priorities for 60 days. As you get stronger, bullies will try to “put you in your place.” ignore it. Keep busy with part-time jobs, studies or hobbies… and training. They will start to back off. After six months you’ll probably be able to take some of them apart and they’ll know.

Start approaching them one at a time and watch them back off. This is where you have to keep improving. Trust me, I know it’s hard and you may not have any support at home. Continue working. The results are worth it.

In the next article, we will talk about training.
