Three movies now that will put a smile on your face

You may be like many people who have often complained about the terrible state of movies now, and in some cases, your attitude is possibly valid. Then again, we’re experiencing such a diverse amount of one-off movies right now that it’s really hard to just say, “It’s all just bad.” In fact, it can probably be argued that the movies coming out now are some of the most refreshing movies to come out in a long time.

That’s a bold statement, especially when you consider some of the so-called “golden age” periods that cinema has had over the last century or so. A quick look at the usual “greatest of all time” has entries in the top ten lists that were made before 1950. Still, with so many diverse filmmakers behind the camera today, using tremendous technology and working with scripts powerful, the movies are something special.

In all honesty, though, it’s important to keep in mind that when it comes to watching a movie, you want to have a good time. Movies are supposed to be entertaining. They don’t all have to be high-end cinema, and they don’t have to be contenders for “GOAT” lists. You want to walk out of the theater absolutely raving about a cool CGI sequence you saw or maybe you’re raving about a choreographed fight sequence that broke the laws of physics. You may not be able to stop laughing at the best pound-for-pound jokes you’ve ever heard.

It’s important to walk out of a movie theater with a smile on your face, and if that’s what matters to you, here are three movies that are sure to get the job done:

life of the party – A career housewife has everything she’s ever known around her and now she has to decide what the next part of her life will entail. How about college? It’s a hilarious journey through what can often be difficult material to cover on film, but then again, don’t we all get through life’s sticky situations with a little humor too?

The water – Some 30 years after the original, the new version of this movie reverses the roles a bit and addresses some more issues besides the differences between rich and poor. A diverse cast and a willingness to touch serious hearts make this revamped version a good movie.

Deadpool 2 – Our foul-mouthed hero is back for a second adventure that sees the formation of X-Force and a mission bigger than himself. With plenty of inside jokes and a tongue-in-cheek way to break the fourth wall without actually breaking it, this is the kind of sequel he dreams of.

The movies that are released now are sure to have high entertainment value. However, aside from the smiles, he remembers that going to the movies is supposed to be a way of putting the world aside for a moment. The filmmakers are based on the idea of suspension of disbelief. In other words, he must let go of the idea that what he is seeing is fictional and not real. If you can do that and drift into a universe where what you’re seeing is very real, you might need a crowbar to take the smile off your face as you walk out of the theater.
