Vince Manuwai is a former player and now plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. He is currently an offensive lineman but is an extremely versatile player. During his college career he was able to play in any position on the field. College Football News also chose him as the first All-America team. The Warriors presented him with the Warrior Club Award, an honor reserved for the best player on the team.

Another prominent player is Mat McBriar. McBriar has a strange history, he is actually Australian and started playing Australian football. He moved to Hawaii and from there signed with the Dallas Cowboys. McBriar made headlines when he made a 75-yard punt, the second-longest in Cowboys history.

Timmy Chang is famous in Warriors history. He was named MVP twice, first at the 2003 Hawaii Bowl and then shared the title with Chad Owens at the 2004 Hawaii Bowl. In both games, the Hawaii Warriors were victorious over the University of Houston and the University of Alabama. in Birmingham, respectively. He now plays for the Tiger Cats in the Canadian Football League.

Coaches of the past

A great team is nothing without a great coach and the Warriors have had a history of famous coaches who led them to victory. Among these great coaches is Clark Shaughnessy. Shaughnessy created innovative techniques to create attacking defense before coaching the Warriors in 1965. Later, Shaughnessy was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1968 for his contribution to coaching.
