One thing hockey fans across the country enjoy is watching their game on satellite television. While Direct TV and the Versus network can’t seem to come together, Dish Network is taking advantage of the void. Many are jumping to a new satellite provider to watch the National Hockey League. But if you want even more action on the court, then the NHL Center Ice is the way to enjoy non-stop action.

If you haven’t heard of the Center Ice package, here are some of the important details. The out-of-market hockey package currently airs on Dish Network channels 625-639. If you tune in there normally you won’t see much unless they offer a free preview which usually happens for two to three weeks during the season. But if you’re willing to shell out around $170 bucks per season, you’ll be treated to all-you-can-see NHL action. There is often a discount if you order the package before the start of the NHL season.

The package is similar to the NFL Sunday Ticket package in that you can watch almost every out-of-market game that is being played. That works out to about 40 hockey games each week, so even if you live in a different area than your favorite team, you’ll usually be able to keep up with all the action.

Many of the games are now in high definition as well. While there is no guarantee of a certain amount of HD gaming, you will be able to find plenty of action in high definition. Access to games is dependent on local carrier broadcasts, so Dish Network is not in full control of this issue.

If you want the NHL Center Ice package, you must first sign up for a regular Dish Network package. Promotional offers are available to new satellite TV customers, so this may be an area worth investigating if you’re looking to cut your pay TV bill a bit.

Also remember that there are some lockdown restrictions with the hockey pack. They usually have to do with national broadcasts carried by NBC or local carrier rights. You can usually still find the game with a regional sports company or on Versus. Another thing to remember is that the NHL League Pass The package is available on many other pay TV providers, such as Comcast, Direct TV and Time Warner cable.
