Maybe it’s time to consider taking your vacation to Dubai, because if you haven’t already, you’ve missed out on one of the best and most varied experiences to be had!

Don’t just take my word for it. Take a look for yourself. Have you heard of Dubai’s famous indoor ski slope? When you try to picture it, do you think of something like a slope in the middle of the mall covered in fake synthetic snow? A ride suitable, in the best of cases, for children? Well, you are terribly wrong, as I was! My jaw dropped when I finally saw it first hand. We’re talking about a proper ski slope with real snow and ice blowers blowing proper (albeit man-made) snow onto the slopes. A full-size chair lift to the top of the slopes, toboggans, and ski rentals. We are talking about a full sized operation here where people can actually take Dubai ski holidays.

Since then, I’ve met people who really learned to ski down that same slope in Dubai’s downtown mall between lavishly relaxing days on the beach sipping exotic cocktails. Don’t even get me started on those beautiful beaches either. They are simply stunning in the Caribbean style. Do a Google image search of Dubai and see for yourself.

I loved the pony rides on the beach just as the sun went down and then there were the amazing water slides with rapids, the wave pool and even the Jumeirah Scarah ride which proposes to take you up to about 50 miles per hour! Once was enough for me and I have since decided that I will never try to go that fast again unless it is in a motorized vehicle! The rapids were amazing though.
