Basic Computer Tips: Computer Terms and Their Meanings

Computers are new to us and are a growing phenomenon. Unfortunately, with this rapid change comes new computer terms and meanings faster than you can blink and say “shudder woods.” Isn’t a desk just the top of your desk? It’s no wonder the average person gets confused and stressed when faced with basic computer terminology.

Computer terms are created every day to keep up with technology.

-Computer
A machine is invented to calculate or perform other operations in real time. In other words, a computer is a device that has a set of software and hardware.

– Schedule
A sequence that instructs the user’s computer and completes the task is called a program. It is designed to process different types of tasks on the computer according to our need and need.

– Operating system (OS)
An operating system helps hardware perform various tasks and works together to produce the desired results. Every time you start the computer, the operating system like Windows or Mac restores its previous settings of all installed software and lets it work according to user input. For example, it instructs software to download certain files from the Internet. It is the duty of the operating system to remember the information with the software interface.

– Application
The application is designed to multitask with the help of the operating system. All applications depend on the operating system. For example, music playback, web browsing, database application, chat application (messengers), etc.

– Line
A file is a data entity available to computer users. The file has a unique name and directory. On some operating systems, the executable file is required to have a “.exe” suffix, limited by the operating system to the number of characters for the particular suffix.

– Internet
The Internet is architecture, designed to handle connectivity and a communication infrastructure. It is used to package the delivery and variety of communication purposes, storage, and access to an unlimited range of information resources. In short, the Internet is a real network where information is stored and accessed. Things like FTP, Internet games, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), and email are part of the Internet.

– World Wide Web
Www stands for World Wide Web which is part of the Internet. There are so many websites on the internet stored on particular servers. You use a browser to access the desired web page for research purposes. Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is the method used to transfer web pages to our computer; All web pages are written in HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) format which is associated with HTTP.

– hypertext
A text, image, or other display device that is displayed on the computer and can be easily read by the computer user on the Internet is called hypertext. It is a branch of the World Wide Web, designed to easily share or access information on the Internet.

-Source code
It is a composition developed by programmers for computer users. The code language written by an assembler in a script is translated into object code. On the World Wide Web, we consider the hypertext markup language used as a source.

-Browser
It is a useful program that displays the files and data on the Internet through the World Wide Web. Many browsers are popular these days like Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera etc. These browsers interpret HTML tags so that they are displayed on the computer screen.
