An Inexpensive Shopping Guide For Summer Clothes

Every season is exciting, if only because it’s an excuse to buy more clothes. This year is no different, but the clothes sure are different. Today I went shopping for summer clothes and was surprised by the number of dresses on sale.

For a long period of time, women, for the most part, eschewed dresses and instead wore different styles of summer pants. Now more and more women realize the value of a dress for summer wear.

The dresses are comfortable, elegant and very feminine. While you can fumble around and spend time trying to pair a top with a skirt or pants, you can instead throw on a dress and you’re good to go. Also, many dresses can be accessorized differently for day or night wear. A dress is perfect for an office, a day of shopping, or a date at a local restaurant. As part of your summer clothing shopping spree, choose a versatile dress in beige or gray, colors that look good in both summer and winter.

Other summer clothing staples include lightweight jeans, capri pants, a bathing suit, shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, and sandals.

A lightweight pair of jeans will last many summers. While skinny jeans are currently in style, they may not be next season. If you’re shopping on a budget, it’s best to invest in a comfortable pair of Levis with a regular fit. Avoid trendy ripped styles and colored jeans, unless you’ve factored the cost into your budget.

Capri pants are a fashion trend that survives every year. A pair of pastel yellow or tan capris can also be worn in spring and fall. Avoid darker colors, which are great in colder weather, but uncomfortable in hot weather. White, while perfect for summer, stains easily and is also not appropriate for late fall, even when the weather is unusually warm.

Shopping for a swimsuit can be a painful experience. There are some guidelines for women who may have features they want to minimize. Women with larger busts will want to avoid flashy colors on top of the swimsuit. If you are uncomfortable with your hips, you can find great suits with little skirts. Men find it easier to wear swimsuits, however it is important to avoid swimsuits that are too big. One feature that men and women share is the ability to wear boardshorts as normal shorts or as a swimsuit.

T-shirts are a staple of every summer wardrobe. Due to its low cost, having several T-shirts is a great way to save for summer clothes.

Lastly, every wardrobe should have a pair of casual and dressy sandals, as well as flip flops for the beach.

For women’s clothing or men’s clothing, a summer shopping experience is less painful when the budget is decided before you leave.
